The court scene begins with victim number 82 at the podium making her statement of what

happened. The room is very large and vast. It's filled with rows and rows of people who are
shown sitting behind the woman. She's sitting at the table with a microphone in front of her and
the integrator to her side. She's wearing a floral scarf over her head making her face from the
public. The press and paparazzi hold off on all photos while she speaks. The setting is very dark
and uncanny. The woman is speaking in a very low tone only loud enough for the interpretation
to recite in his microphone. As she states the awful things that happened toher the camera
slowly zooms out revealing the crowd behind her expanding larger and larger. The atmosphere
is striking and intimidating. A little before she finished her statement a portion of the crowd/jury
quickly stood up and made their exit. Specifically Dr Monteverde, who is the daughter of the
defendant in the case. What interest me in this scene is the darkness of the court room setting.
The group of women sitting together all with matching scarfs over their face in the crowd
constructed a unique visual. I have never seen anything like that before. When i watched it in
the beginning i was confused about why the woman had the scarf over her face. It wasn't until
the camera switched to the shot of all the rest of the women together wearing the same thing i
understood
