We listened to the wonderful translation written by Nazmi Ağıl's translation, not forgetting that the

poem “Beowulf” comes from the oral tradition. Every time he read it aloud, the whole story came to life
in my eyes. The most important thing that caught my attention; it was to learn about the role of women.
At least 20 names of people and who they are are mentioned. However, only 2 of them are women.
Although the poem is entirely based on beowulf's heroism, we were able to get little information about
women through the little stories in between.

I understood very clearly that; women took on the role of peacemakers during the period. They do this by
marrying a member of the opposing tribe or hostile society. It made me happy to learn about not only
the etymological change of the language, but also the living conditions of the country at that time, the
life of the period, and the point of view of women with a poem from the Middle Ages. When I read the
book by myself, I could not get such clear information. Thank you for all helping this.
