B.Tech. 4th Sem
Assignment-1
Q.1. Figure shows a schematic diagram of an automobile suspension
system. As the car moves along the road, the vertical displacements at the
tires act as the motion excitation to the automobile suspension system. The
motion of this system consists of a translational motion of the center of mass
and a rotational motion about the center of mass (Consider the motion of the
body only in the vertical direction.). Obtain the transfer function Xo(s)/Xi(s).

Q.2. Find the equivalent transfer function T(s)= C(s)/R(s), for the system
shown:

Q.3. Obtain the overall transfer function for a system represented by the
block diagram given:

Q.4. Given the following differential equation, solve for y(t) if all initial
conditions are zero. Use the Laplace transform. Here u(t) is unit step
function.
Q.5. For the given network, find the transfer function, I2(s)/V(s).

Q.6. Draw the corresponding block diagram for the given signal flow graph
and determine the overall transfer function using block diagram reduction
technique.

Q.7. Obtain signal flow graph representation for a given system whose block
diagram is :

Specify (a) forward path, (b) individual loops, (c) path factors, (d) non-
touching loops, (e) determine the graph determinant, and (f) overall
transmittance.
Q.8. Differentiate between open loop and closed loop system. What is the
relation between open loop and closed loop control system derive the
expression?
Q.9. Derive the torque equation for a rotational mechanical system. After
deriving the equation assume the stiffness is zero how the equation will
change?
Q.10. Find the system equation for system shown in the fig. And also
determine f-v and f-i analogies
