Funded by the World Bank Philippines COVID-19 Emergency Response Project

(WBPCERP), the Northern Samar Provincial Hospital (NSPH) Isolation Facility was
inaugurated today, February 7, 2023 at the NSPH.

The said isolation facility will serve as an additional precaution to prevent any
transmission of other infectious agents, such as bacteria or viruses, between the
hospital patients and personnel.

Governor Edwin Ongchuan, whose message was delivered by Board Member and
Chair of Committee on Health, Hon. Gilbert Layon, gave his thanks to the World
Bank for supporting the said facility.

“We may be past the worst part of the COVID-19 pandemic, but this isolation facility
will be great addition to the services offered by our provincial hospital.” Gov.
Ongchuan said.

The NSPH was among the beneficiaries of the Philippine COVID-19 Emergency
Response Project.

Present during the inauguration are: Provincial Health Officer II and Chief of Hospital
II Dr. Ninfa Caparroso-Kam, Chief of Hospital I Dr. Joseph Estanislao, Provincial
DOH Officer Dr. Rommel Francisco, World Bank team led by Project Officer I
Architect Ariel Magbanua, and DOH Eastern Visayas Team led by Director Exuperia
Sabalberino; as well as other NSPH and PHO staff and employees.
