Objectives (What will children expect to learn)
Children will learn how to increase their vocabulary, writing, and speaking skills with the help of
family and friends through books based on their reading level.
2. Materials and Equipment needed:
● Books
● Memory games
● Number cards
● Create their own word search (paper)
● Making a macaroni number jewelry
● Reading log
3. Teaching (What will you do?)]
As an educator, I will want my students to do a weekly reading log. They will pick a book of their
choice to learn how to read before they take their book home to read with friends or family I will
make sure they are able to fully read the first page without help. I want my students to challenge
themselves and take home a book they will fully understand and read fully by the end of the week
with no help. At the end of the week instead of quizzing my students, I want them to tell me what
they learn in the book for instance by giving me a brief summary of the story. I will also take part
in this challenge and read a book of my student’s choice.
4. Closure:
At the end of the weekly lesson, I want my students to take share a photo with whom they share

the book of their choice it does not have to be necessary to be a parent, sibling, or friend it can also be an

object like Mr. Teddy. I want my students to feel like they accomplished a goal they did not expect to

achieve. I will assure to my students I will take part of this challenge and observe who needs helps

understand the English language.
