The 8-Point Socioeconomic Agenda of PBBM Administration and the World Economic Forum 2023

Last January 27, 2023, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. signed the Executive Order No. 14
approving and adopting the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) for the year 2023 – 2028 which aims to
bring back the country to a high-growth path and enable the economic and social transformation for a
strong, broad and well-off society. It is said that the basis of the Philippine Development Plan is the 8-
Point Socioeconomic Agenda of the PBBM Administration which focuses in creating more jobs to the
Filipino people, by means of investing in infrastructure, human capital development, and digital
economy, in order to reduce poverty while addressing other issues such as rising prices of goods and
services, issues brought by the COVID 19 pandemic and economic productivity.

The 8-Point Socioeconomic Agenda of the administration focuses on ensuring food security and reducing
the energy, transport, and logistic costs in order to ensure that the Filipino family could access these
needs. Next focus is to address the issues and concerns brought by the COVID 19 pandemic by
improving the healthcare system of the country and taking the negative effects of it positively in order
to create new policies and programs that is beneficial to the system. Another is by creating more jobs,
quality jobs, and green jobs by means of investments, infrastructures and energy security. This also
focuses on the upholding of public order and safety, peace, and security. Lastly, is to ensure a
comprehensive economic fundamental by means of improving the bureaucratic efficiency and fiscal
management. Then again, all of this will be much more possible or attainable if all sectors will do their
part to sustain an inclusive and resilient growth during the period or term of the present administration.

On January 15-21, 2023, the World Economic Forum was held in Davos, Switzerland with a mission to
