INTERVIEW SHEET FOR TEACHER

1. Does the implementation of teaching strategies in reading comprehension of texts

especially analytical exposition text make learning objectives achieved properly?

(ANSWER): Yes, of course. From the beginning of teaching and learning process I have

told students the aspect that must be achieved. If the students already understand this,

automatically it will be easy for me to implement teaching strategies. So that, learning

objectives can be achieved properly.

2. What are the strategies used by the teacher in teaching reading comprehension of

analytical exposition text? And why used this strategy?

(ANSWER): The first strategy that I use in teaching reading comprehension of analytical

exposition text is QARs (Question – Answer Relationship) strategy. By using Question -

Answer Relationship strategy directly to students, I can see the extent of students'

abilities and understanding of the material being studied when students answer questions

in their own language. The next strategy is Scaffolding strategy, I use this strategy to

help students who have difficulty in pronouncing words. And the last strategy that I use

in teaching reading comprehension of analytical exposition text is Reciprocal Teaching

strategy. Because by using the reciprocal teaching strategy I can understand students

who have good vocabulary understanding in each group, where they become guides for

other students who do not yet have good vocabulary skills. With this strategy, students

can help each other and work together to understand analytical exposition text which is

quite difficult for students to understand, especially in the vocational high school.

3. How do the teacher measure students’ abilities in reading comprehension of analytical

exposition text?
(ANSWER): The simplest way to measure it is by asking students directly. For the

example like whether they understand the generic structure of analytical exposition, etc.

Besides that, at the end of the learning activities I will provide tests related to the material

being studied, so I can see and assess each student’s reading comprehension ability.

4. Has the reading comprehension ability of all students in the texts especially analytical

exposition text improved after the teacher implies teaching strategies in reading

comprehension of analytical exposition text?

(ANSWER): Yes, the reading comprehension ability of all students in analytical

exposition text has improved after the teaching strategy implied even though progress

level of each students was different.

5. What are the solutions given in overcoming the problem if there are students who have

not been able to understand the analytical exposition text well?

(ANSWER): In this case, if there are students who have not reached the desired level of

understanding, the teacher must be ready to help students by taking the time so that the

teacher can provide further guidance, for example by giving additional tests and

motivations to this students.
