Waterloo West’s Samantha Camilo Signs to RedTail Women’s Bowling

WATERLOO–The RedTail Women’s Bowling team has signed Samantha Camilo to the
2023-2024 recruiting class. Camilo has a lot of experience in the sport, bowling competitively
for 10 years.

During her high school bowling career Camilo made one appearance at state as an individual and
three appearances with her team. She was named to the 2023 All-State and All-District second
teams. Camilo also earned All-Metro and MVC first team honors.

Camilo hails from Waterloo, attending Waterloo West High School. She plans on studying Early
Childhood Education during her time at Hawkeye Community College.

“I am excited to bowl for Hawkeye because I feel it will give me a challenge and the opportunity
to bowl with different people and of course to express my energy,” said Camilo.

Head coach Roger Taylor is excited about Camilo’s signing saying, “Samie's high school coaches
consider her the team's hype girl and that is one of the things that really stood out to me about
her. She brings solid fundamentals with her energy and we are excited to have Samie join the
team next season.”
