Money, percentages, exchange rates, interest, tax
1.
(On average 10 - 12 marks)

This is usually the first or the second question. The


student should have knowledge of calculating
percentages, finding cost or profits, how to calculate
interest rates (simple and compound), calculating
taxes, how to change from one currency to another.

Statistics

(On average 9 to 12 marks)

Student should have a good grip on the following


concepts; Mean, median, mode, range, grouped and
ungrouped data tables, Cumulative frequency
(curves), Histograms, Pie charts, Bar graphs, Scatter
plots, Correlation, Line of best fit, Trends and
Probability.

Algebraic representation, Algebraic manipulation,
3. Equations & Inequalities
(On average 12 - 15 marks)

Student should know how to factorise, simplify,


expand and form equations, making subject of
variables, derive equations from shapes, solving
equations, understanding and solving inequalities,
graphs of inequalities, simultaneous equations, use of
the quadratic formula.

Graphs of Functions

(On average 10 - 12 marks)

Student should know how to sketch the graph of


equations, how to fill values in a table via equations,
concept of tangents and gradients, simultaneous
equations, comparing and solving equations.

Trigonometry

(On average 10 - 12 marks)

Student should know about Bearings, Pythagorus


theorem, 3D trigonometry, Basic trigonometric ratios,
angles of elevation/depression, calculating angles,
Calculating lengths, Sine and Cosine rules, Calculation
of obtuse angles, area of triangles.

Mensuration

(On average 9 - 11 marks)

Student should know about 3D and 2D mensuration,


nets of shapes.

Probability
7. (On average 7 - 8 marks)

Student should know about simple probability,


probability of a coin, dice or items, tree diagrams,
possibility diagrams, relative frequency (experimental
probability), theoretical probability.

This chapter is also coupled with statistics. So one


should have an understanding of histograms,
cumulative frequency curves, data tables, pie charts,
bar graphs.

your syllabus, but the trend shows that there is a higher chance that you get
