COMBINING CREATIVITY,
SUSTAINABILITY AND SOCIAL
UTILITY IN FAVOUR OF A
CIRCULAR ECONOMY.
WHY:
In the maximum-security prison of Lecce Borgo San Nicola at the Women's Prison of Trani,
and recently in Matera - the initiative aims to produce ethical gadgets and fashion
accessories in general: all made with recycled fabrics, collected from various Italian textile
companies, specifically thanks to the Consorzio mare di Moda.
🌍Website: https://f-diamante.ch/
Located in the heart of Al Barsha South, this nursery accepts children from 45 days to 4
years of age.
It can count on an excellent range of facilities that really promotes the essence of the
Norwegian Curriculum. Consisting of 13 classrooms, this branch also has a children’s
kitchen, gym, multipurpose hall and splash pool. The spacious classrooms allow children
the freedom to be independent learners and all classes have access to an outdoor
classroom.
The materials are collected, processed and finally displayed for sale to the public at prices
that take into account their qualities and characteristics. They are divided by typology
according to their technical characteristics. In addition to these activities, META supports
different forms of creativity and opens its space to design – organizing training sessions,
laboratories and workshops carried out in collaboration with artists and designers
dedicated to the practice of reuse practices and carried out in collaboration with artists
and designers.
From the donated materials can born creative projects (see the Dys-cycling one in the
Case Histories section of this presentation) but they can also be used by Fashion Design
professors while teaching or by the students as an aid for their activities.
Istituto Marangoni Firenze in collaboration with Maison FENDI and the support of Pardgroup
presents the project ‘DIS-CYCLING · The seductive allure of creativity in sustainability', under the
creative direction of New York artist Sarah Coleman.
