ALGUSO Environmental, Health and Safety Committee oye SUBJECT Conduct of Coastal Cleanup DATE F 26 April 2023 Action Requested The DG's approval to the conduct Coastal Cleanup, as part of PEZA’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), on 08 May 2023 in Las Piflas - Parafiaque Critical Habitat and Ecotourism Area (LPPCHEA). Background * Coastal Cleanup is one of the identified activities to form part of PEZA’s CSR; + PEZA-Head Office conducted the same activity in LPPCHEA in 12 April 2019 which was Participated by seventy (70) officers and employees, and, has collected sixty-six (66) Sacks equivalent to three hundred eighty-seven (387) kilograms of assorted wastes; and, + LLPCHEA is a one hundred seventy-five (175) hectare protected area that has mangrove and wetland areas which provide sources of food for about 5,000 birds per day. Recommendation 'f the proposal merits the DG's approval, we shall do the following: 1. Coordinate with LLPCHEA for the reservation and schedule of PEZA’s conduct of Coastal Cleanup; 2. Send an email invitation to the officers and employees in the PEZA-Head Office and in the nearby PEZA-Special Economic Zone Offices to ask for volunteers in the said activity; and, 3. Coordinate with the Environmental, Health and Safety Committee (EHSC) for the distribution of tasks and necessary arrangements (e.g. logistics, food, first aid, etc.) for the conduct of the Coastal Cleanup. The expenses that may be incurred during the conduct of the said activities shall be charged to PEZA-ESG and HR's budget for CSR. For the DG's consideration and/or further instructions.
