Office will conduct a Sustainable Tourism and Carrying Capacity Workshop for LGUs, tourism site managers and stakeholders on 20-21 October 2021, 8:00AM - 12NN, via Zoom. This will promote sustainable tourism as the yardstick of development and a tool for the formulation of local policies as we recover and transition to the new normal. Specifically, the virtual activity aims to provide the following: * To integrate the concept of sustainable tourism in the formulation of relevant plans, product evelopment, marketing and promotion, and other relevant interventions that may affect the resent natural, socio-cultural and economic dimension of host communities; * To determine the ideal and science-based carrying capacity of tourism sites to significantly Feduce negative impacts on the environment, which will also aide in the observance of minimum health and safety protocols; and * To mainstream sustainable tourism development that has demonstrated its capacity to support Job creation, promote inclusive social integration, protect natural and cultural heritage, conserve biodiversity, generate sustainable livelihoods and improve human wellbeing In this regard, we would like to invite the Provincial, City, and Municipal Tourism Officers to attend the ‘said workshop, together with your respective Planning Development Officers and P/C/M/ENROs.
