NAFCO Mauritius
NAFCO is the first network of secondary school students in Mauritius which
aims at finding innovative solutions to problems faced by students. These
solutions shall either be implemented by students themselves or
suggested to relevant authorities.
In August 2021, after our National Survey 2021, our national committee
Only 1 out of 6 students decided to implement a theme-based board on ‘Arts and Cultural Heritage’
consider arts and culture as an
important part of education. after seeing that only 16% students consider arts and culture as an
important part of our education.

The Project
The board for Arts and Cultural Heritage of NAFCO Mauritius would like to
initiate a course around Mauritian Creole through a series of webinars which
will be available to the youth.
The participants would get to virtually enrol for the webinars and will be
awarded certificates of participation upon attendance. Some themes for the
webinars could include ‘The History of Creole’, ‘Impact and Influence of Creole’,
‘Arts and Creole’, ‘Pedagogy and Educational Policy of Creole’, ‘what makes
creole a language’ and many more…
