RATIONALE

We, the English Educators’ Club firmly believe in the oral expression and

interpretation as the best avenues to develop the club’s ideas and convictions do

hereby promulgate and adopt this constitution and by-laws.

VISION

The English Educators’ Club seeks to lead higher learning of literature across

languages in cultivating creative, cultural, and scholarly contexts of literacy that enables

every member to become a globally-competent individuals.

MISSION

The English Educators’ Club aims for the development of students’ English

literacy, learning programs such as creative works, macro and micro skills development

for effective communication in the field of English language.

CLUB OBJECTIVES

1. Provide an avenue where the students can develop their creativity in performing

arts and oral expression in the English language and Cultivate the inherent

intellectual capabilities of the students through engaging activities in and out of

the Institution.

2. Foster social connections among the Trinitarians, and people in the community.

3. To extend influence of the English Educators’ Club throughout the community.

Article I: NAME OF THE ORGANIZATION AND THE CLUB SEAL

Section 1: The official name of this organization is ENGLISH EDUCATORS’ CLUB,

with the initials EEC.

Section 2: English Educators’ Club shall be the official organization of all officially
enrolled Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English of Holy Trinity
College of General Santos City.

Section 3: The organization recognizes the official Logo which emblems the totality of
the EEC, that is illustrated below.

Section 4: The official Logo of this organization symbolizes the following:

 The Torch denotes knowledge and wisdom;

 The 22 Olive leaves inspire the 22 programs offered by the Institution and
it also denotes peace and friendship;
 The bold black circle surrounds the emblem emphasizes the wholeness
of this Organization;
 The thin outer circle symbolizes the Endless support of the Institution to
this Organization;
 The Red Orange corresponds passion and vitality;
 The Black and White symbolizes sophistication and power of this
Organization; and
 The Quill symbolizes the organization’s passion in learning English
grammar, vocabularies, writing effective responses precisely, logically and
collaboratively.

Article II: PURPOSE OF THE ORGANIZATION

Section 1: This Organization aims to create a desirable and social atmosphere for
English major students, and implement the club’s mission and vision.

Section 2: To appeal the perspective of the students who shows interest in helping
the growth and development of this organization.

Section 3: The EEC shall ensure to uphold its vision, mission, goals, and objectives.

Article III: RESPONSIBILITIES 9

DUTIES/FUCTIONS, AND RIGHTS OF MEMBERS

Each member has its own responsibilities for the contentment of the Organization

A bona fide member has the following responsibilities:

Section 1: Each member shall attend the regular and special meetings of the
Organization.

Section 2: Each member must pay the agreed contribution and dues, and must
willingly provide out of the pocket expenses relating to the affairs of the
organization.

Section 3: To be recognized as a member of the Club, each member should pay the
membership fee worth 40.00 Philippine peso/semester.

Section 4: No discrimination on the basis of age, race, sex, sexual identity, creed, or
religion will exist within the organization.

Section 5: Each member should participate in meetings, activities and any other
important discussions regarding the Club’s plans and duties.

Section 6: Each member must avail the Club's T-shirt to be recognized especially in
certain events. Students who fails to avail the T-shirt will accept sanctions
set by the Club.

Section 8: Any EEC officers and members who displayed negligence on his/her
duties
shall be fined. This proceeds to the Club’s funding.

Section 9: Each member has the right to express his/her own opinions to fellow
members, and officers of the Organization.

Article IV: CLUB ELECTIONS

Section 1: The organization shall have a new set of officers every academic year that
consist of President, Vice-president, Secretary, Treasurer, Auditor, Public
Information Officer, Peace Officer, and one Representative per year level.

Section 2: The President should belong to a graduating class and should have
acquainted himself with the school for at least two years. He/She should
not hold the major positions in other clubs and other organizations in the
school.

Section 3: The first election of officers must take place during the reorganization of
clubs scheduled by the SADO.

Section 4: The first election should be presided by the Adviser, and the previous
officers should take over if the Adviser is not available.

Section 5: The officers shall be elected by the majority of votes of the members who
are present.
Section 6: The duty of the officers is only bounded in one year, until their successors
are elected on the next annual meeting.

Section 7: All elections will be governed by the rules imposed by the school.

Article V: POWERS AND DUTIES OF OFFICERS

Section 1: This Organization consists of ten (10) Officers duly elected by the
members of the EEC, and it is consisting President, Vice-President,
Secretary, Treasurer, Auditor, Public Information Officer, Peace Officer
and a Representative per year level.

Section 2: The duties of the officers shall be those usually pertaining to their
respective offices as follows:

The President of the club, as the head of the organization, shall perform the

following:

1. Call and preside over the club meetings and assemblies;

2. Countersign all accounts and reports of the club;
3. Represent the organization in other assemblies called by the school
administration or other authorities in the community;
4. Approve the disbursement of funds;
5. Call special elections if necessary;
6. See to it that the club runs smoothly in the achievement of its aims or
objectives; and
7. Serve as the foremost motivator in all endeavors that the club wants to
venture.

The Vice President of the club shall:

1. Assume the power and duties of the President in his absence;

2. Succeed the President during his resignation, disability of transfer of
school;

3. Assume the power and duties delegated to him by the President or

Advisers of the club;
4. Assist at all times the president and all other officers in the club in all
its activities;
5. Act as one of the primary movers of the club in all its activities; and
6. Head of the External Affairs Committee.

The Secretary of the club shall:

1. Keep all the records of the club;

2. Take the minutes of meeting and assemblies;
3. Take the necessary pronouncements for meeting and all other
activities; and
4. Head the Secretariat committee.

The Treasurer of the club shall:

1. Collect all fees;

2. Prepare the expected expenses of a certain activity that the club
wishes to do;
3. Keep a record of the club’s finances;
4. Submit the proposed expenses of the club on a certain activity;
5. Prepare the detailed financial account of the club, which is to be
represented to the body at the end of the year.

The Auditor of the club shall:

1. Attest the accuracy of the financial statements made by the Treasurer; 13

2. Sign all financial account prepared by the Treasurer; and
3. Assist the officers in planning any activity.

The Public Information Officer of the club shall:

1. Coordinate with the club members;

2. Coordinate the club with the honorary and special members of the club
who are in other places;
3. Coordinate to the club the other activities of other clubs in the school;
and
4. Disseminate information and announcements to all club members.

The Peace officer of the club shall:

1. Help presiding officer to maintain peace and order during meetings;
2. Act as disciplinary officer, also as chief officer;
3. Act as chief peace officer and overall Sergeant of the Club.

The Representatives of the club shall:

1. Relay the information discussed in the club meetings to their
respective years; and
2. Represent their year level during club meetings.

Article VI: CLUB ADVISER

Section 1: The adviser of the club shall be an English teacher appointed by the
Dean.

Section 2: The advisers may be appointed by the Dean or a voluntary expression on

the part of the teacher to join the organization.

Section 3: The adviser shall serve as the consultant of the club.

Section 4: The adviser should help in the planning of the activities of the club.

Section 5: The adviser shall preside the first meeting of the club every year if no
available officer is present.

Section 6: The adviser should announce the registration, termination or suspension

of a member or an officer.

Section 7: The adviser should attest the appointment of a successor.

Article VII: NOTICE OF MEETINGS

Section 1: The location and time of the next meeting will be announced at the end of
the preceding meeting.

Section 2: A quorum shall consist of 50% of the active members.

Section 3: A quorum shall be present in order for any official business to be

conducted. Official business shall include the election of officers, setting
of dues, and other major decisions affecting the organization.

Section 4: A monthly meeting shall be conducted for the purpose of the club activity
assessment.

ARTICLE VIII: SUSPENSION AND DISMISSAL OF OFFICERS AND MEMBERS

Section 1: An officer or member of the club may be suspended by a majority of votes

from the members of the club, if he/she has been inactive or for any
personal reason expressed by an officer or a member.

Sub-Section A: If an officer is unable to fulfill his/her duties for the designated

term, vacancies shall be filled by a special election to be held at the
next scheduled club meeting.

Grounds for impeachment are as follows:

1. Failure to attend the monthly meeting two (2) times without valid
evidence for absence.
2. A major violation that may affect the Club’s Image such as profanity
and other offensive acts.

Article IX: AMENDMENTS

Section 1: These Constitutions and By-laws may be amended in the same manner
prescribed for the amendment of the Constitution.

Article X: ENACTING CLAUSE

Section 1: These Constitutions and By-laws shall become effective upon the
approval of the Student Affairs and Development Office (SADO) Director.

The Constitution and By-laws are hereby amended and agreed upon by the club’s
adviser and by the following officers:
