Subject Hari Raya Puasa 2023

Dear Teams,

Please be informed that the Hari Raya Puasa this year may fall on either 22 & 23 April 2023 ( Saturday
& Sunday) or 21 & 22 April 2023 (Friday & Saturday) which the Government will declare in due time.

The Government has also announced an additional public holiday under Section 8 of the Holidays Act
1951 for Peninsular Malaysia and Labuan depending on when Hari Raya starts. The announcement
states that if Hari Raya falls on Friday ( April 21), the following Monday ( April 24) will be a public
holiday and if it were to fall on Saturday (April 22nd) , then Friday ( April 21st) will be declared as a
public holiday, the premier said. As such the company’s Hari Raya Puasa observation shall be as follows
and subject to the pending announcement by the Government between scenario 1 and scenario 2.

Scenario 1:

If Hari Raya Puasa falls on 22 & 23 April 2023 (Saturday & Sunday), then 21 April 2023 (Friday) shall be
the additional Public Holiday as announced

 Employees required to work on the above-mentioned public holiday(s) and are eligible for
public holiday pay shall be compensated at the rate prescribed by Employment Act 1955.
 Employee required to work on the above-mentioned public holiday(s) but are not eligible for
the public holiday pay shall be provided with one (1) replacement holiday for work done on
one (1) public holiday and shall be credited to their annual leave balance.
 Employees not scheduled to work shall observe the public holiday on the said dates.
 Every employee shall be allowed in each week a rest day of one whole day as may. be
determined from time to time by the employer, and where an employee is allowed more
than one rest day in a week the last of such rest days shall be the rest day.
 Employees who have two rest day, first rest day is said Off Day, the second rest day is said
Rest Day.
