The country that is most interested about this topic appears to be India, with 11
documents.
In total, the number of citations until 3/03/2023 is 404. The most citations were done in 2019,
related to the COVID-19 pandemics.
The year with more publications was 2021, and the graphs for this year are shown below.
b. Smells AND artificial AND intelligence
TOTAL OF ARTICLES: 206
Only by one extra article, the country that publishes the most is South Korea.
In total, the number of citations until 3/03/2023 is 113.
Since the are only 6 articles, each articles corresponds to a different year, and there is
not a year with more publications than the other.

Title: SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SCENT EXPLORATION
Description: Systems and methods may deliver a personalized fragrance match to
consumers based on fragrance testing, next-generation artificial intelligence, facial
emotional recognition, and olfactory science. The brain's scent receptors may react to
fragrance notes and ingredients, those reactions may be measured, and a custom profile
may be created that pinpoints what the consumer loves to smell and predicts fragrances
that the consumers may love. Using olfactory science, scent may be decoded by learning
the precise receptors activated in the brain by any given fragrance, opening up immense
potential for consumer facing implications. Though individual response to fragrance is
subjective, the receptors being activated are not. Olfactory science enables "digitization"
of fragrance, understanding the "receptor fingerprint" of any given fragrance. Accordingly,
consumers may be matched to fragrances while emphasizing how the consumers want
to feel when wearing the fragrance.

Title: ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE BASED CLASSIFICATION FOR TASTE AND SMELL
FROM NATURAL LANGUAGE DESCRIPTIONS
Description: Taste and smell classification from multilanguage descriptions can be
performed by extracting, by one or more processors using natural language processing,
a text including one or more words associated with taste and smell perceptions from an
input received from a plurality of users. The input includes multilanguage information
regarding at least one of changes in smell and changes in taste perceived by each of the
plurality of users. Feature vectors are generated for the text extracted from the input
using global vectors, and a distance between the feature vectors and a plurality of
reference descriptors associated with taste and smell is calculated for determining a
similarity between the text and the reference descriptors and creating a training dataset
based on which a classification model is generated for categorizing the plurality of users
according to the at least one of changes in smell and changes in taste.

Title: SERVER FOR CONTROLLING BAD SMELL FOR BIG DATA ANALYSIS BASED
ON ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND METHOD THEREOF
Description: According to the present invention, disclosed are an odor control server
using big data analysis which comprises: a building unit that collects big data to build an
odor analysis model; an analysis unit for generating analysis information by learning the
amount of inputted drug in response to an odor environment or by inputting a similar odor
condition to the odor analysis model; and a remote control unit that generates a control
value based on the analysis information and provides the control value to an odor
reduction device to remotely control an operation of the odor reduction device.

Title: Intelligent smell sensor intelligent monitoring system applied to oil depot
Description: The invention discloses an intelligent smell sensor intelligent monitoring
system applied to an oil depot, and the system comprises a safety monitoring system, an
intelligent oil depot data platform, an environment energy monitoring system, an
intelligent warehousing system, and an online monitoring data platform. The AI artificial
intelligence algorithm is combined, management such as identification, judgment, early
warning and disposal of oil depot safety is achieved, the environment-friendly monitoring
system conducts protection of heat insulation and cooling in summer and heat
preservation in winter on an oil tank through energy-saving and environment-friendly
materials, the effect is verified through an intelligent smell sensor, and safety and energy
saving of the oil depot are achieved; the intelligent warehousing system combines
leakage detection, inspection detection, oil temperature detection, external protection
and internal management to carry out online analysis on an existing warehouse. The
invention discloses an intelligent smell sensor intelligent monitoring system applied to an
oil depot, belongs to the technical field of intelligent oil depots, and can monitor the safety
of the oil depot in multiple dimensions.

10. Identify three possible competitors of your product or process, specifying the name, the
country and the differentiating factor.
Competitor 2: Machine learning techniques for code smell detection: A systematic literature
review and meta-analysis
Country: China
Differentiating factor: In this case, the difference is that they only recognize a certain number
of molecules in their model, but not all of the molecules present an odor to the human nose.
Leaving these molecules out will decrease the prediction level of molecules starting from their
structure.
Competitor 3: Google has built an AI model with a human-like capacity to predict odor.
Country: United States
Differentiating factor: There is still work to do in standardizing the description of smells, since
they have found out it depends on ethnicity, alimentary behavior, age, etc. Their model is still
uncapable of assigning a smell to a molecule, since the description in most of the cases is
subjective.
11. Finally, mention how a supplier, processor and marketer intervene in your product or process.
Since this is a technological process, the role of the supplier would be mixed with the
processor to bring what is needed for the process. First, the space needed to store the data
in the cloud, and computers with the capability of doing all the calculations and associations
for thousand of data inputs. A handbook that includes many substances and their respective
structures, to make sure the information is accurate, and relevant to the investigation.
The role of the marketer would be important here since they would need to bring this product
into a commercial use. Their strategies should be focused on promoting the process to
food/beverage, healthcare, pharmaceutical industries to identify in their list of molecules
which ones would produce an odor with a specific objective. For example, in food, if they
already know a group of molecules produce a specific type of smell, then they could test them
to optimize processes, increase quality, reduce costs, etc.
