TAKUBAN (Camouflage)

In a dark place where mere light is glance, we look at ourselves in a vanity

mirror. Staring at our inner selves, seeking for meaning to questions of
worth, value and identity, we battle for ourselves against an enemy that is
more than the eyes can see. Trying to cover the deeper emotions, we took
at anything to hide the inner struggles with sweet sugar coatings yet our
eyes windows these battles from within.
Confused, we try to put on a variety of identity to cover and box our true
self. “Why do I feel so unwanted? Am I really that hideous? Why does it feel
like I don’t look good in anything? Barged with different images, one tries
after another to fit and find the make-up to cover. Each cover comes with
different picture from behind. We may find one that almost suits. However,
the real self wails and screams from deep within. Truth will find its way to
liberate from the labyrinth of the soul.
However, at different moments of our lives, we encounter awakening and
challenge us to face the reality no matter what. Yet it comes with a price to
pay. It takes courage, self-love and acceptance that can liberate us from all
these that masked our true identity. We took the step to shatter the
physicalities and crumble the frames that we imprisoned and boxed for
ourselves. We merge into a greater scheme of reality carrying our true self.
We realized that the story we create are not the story we romanticized but
the ones we longed and hoped for. It is far from the vanity of those
superficial coatings and opulence. Bare and naked, we embrace life in the
rhythm of life’s own melody and harmony.
And life takes a leap of faith and a new beginning.
