3. Job description
Job Title : Cyber Café Assistant.

4. Duties

 Customer service: Providing excellent customer service by assisting customers


with their queries, guiding them on the use of the computer systems and software
applications installed on them, and ensuring that their experience is satisfactory.
 Computer maintenance: Ensuring that all computer systems in the cyber cafe are
functioning properly, maintaining their software and hardware components, and
troubleshooting any issues that arise.
 Cash management: Managing cash transactions, including collecting payments,
issuing receipts, and maintaining accurate records of all financial transactions.
 Internet security: Ensuring that the cyber cafe's network is secure from
unauthorized access, installing and updating anti-virus software, and monitoring
for any security threats.
 Inventory management: Maintaining an accurate inventory of all computer
systems, accessories, and software applications installed in the cyber cafe.
 Cleaning and maintenance: Ensuring that the cyber cafe is clean and well-
maintained, including regularly cleaning computer systems, keyboards, and other
peripherals.
 Marketing: Promoting the cyber cafe through various channels such as social
media, flyers, and other advertising materials to attract new customers.
 Administrative tasks: Performing administrative tasks such as answering phone
calls, responding to emails, and maintaining customer databases.
 Time management: Ensuring that customers are not hogging computer systems
for too long, and that they are adhering to the cafe's policies and procedures.
 Training and development: Keeping up-to-date with the latest technology trends
and software applications, and training customers on how to use them effectively.

5. Termination of employment

Termination of this contract will be four weeks. Notice must be given in writing. In the
case where an employee is illiterate notice may be given by that employee verbally.
The parties agree that on termination of the contract of employment, the employer shall
furnish the employee with a certificate of service.
6. Duration
By entering into this fixed term contract, the Employee understands and expressly
acknowledges that the duration of employment with the Employer in terms of this Fixed
Term Contract will be specifically linked to the employee’s performance as a cyber café
assistant. This Fixed Term Contract may be prematurely terminated should the
Employee not successfully perform their obligations as set out under this contract:
7.Probation
The employee is appointed for a probation period of 3 (three) months, renewable for the
next one year. The employer shall be entitled to terminate this contract before the
expiring of the probation, due to the employee's misconduct, incapacity or due to
operational reasons. The employer undertakes to follow all relevant procedures and
guidelines as set out in the schedules to the Employment Act of Kenya.

8. Wage
The employees wage shall be through his payment account the Kshs.

9. Hours of work

Overtime will only be worked if agreed to between the parties, from time to time.
The employee will be paid for overtime at the rate of one and a half times his/her total
wage as set out in clause 5.3.

10. Meal Intervals


The employee agrees to a lunch break of one hour. Lunchtime will be taken
from_____________ to_____________daily.

11. Deductions from remuneration


The employer may not deduct any monies from the employee’s wage unless the
employee has agreed to this in writing on each occasion.

12. General
Any changes to this agreement will only be valid if they are in writing and have been
agreed to and signed by both parties.
