Candidates who are already

our minimum entry requirements
at the time of application are giv-
en preference in our selection
procedure. !erefore it is advised
to take any supplementary test as
soon as possible.

Preparatory education re-

sults
• Please refer to the entry requirements
overview and check whether you are meet-
ing the English pro!ciency requirement to
PPLE College through your secondary educa-
tion diploma*.

• If your English grade is insu"cient or if Eng-

lish is not included in your !nal exam you
need to take a supplementary English pro!-
ciency test to meet the English language
requirement.

*Please note that you are only exempted from a

supplementary test if you obtained your diplo-
ma less than two years before the start of the
progamme.

Test results
#e speci!ed scores below are minimum ad-
missions requirements. Lower scores will not
be accepted. If your scores are insu"cient, you
will need to retake the test. When you send in
the results, please refer to the contact details of
test centres below.

PPLE College only accepts su"cient test

scores that have been obtained less than two
years before the start of the programme.

TOEFL
Required minimum test scores:

• TOEFL Internet-based (iBT): overall score

- 100
• Reading - 24

• Listening - 22

• Speaking - 25

• Writing - 24

#e TOEFL reporting number is 9011 - Univer-

sity of Amsterdam. Students will need to enter
this code on their answer sheets when sitting
the examination.

TOEFL MyBest scores are not accepted. #e

subscore requirements must be met on one
single test session.

Test of English as a Foreign Language

(TOEFL)

IELTS
Required minimum test score:

• IELTS academic: overall score of 7.0, and not

more than one subscore on 6.5. All other sub-
scores must be at least 7.0.

International English Language Testing

System (IELTS)

Cambridge
Required minimum test scores:

• CAE or CPE - C1 with a minimum score of

190

Cambridge English

You must make your own arrangements to

take any of these tests, and pay any fee re-
quired. It takes some time for the results to be
published, so make sure you book a test date
that is early enough for the results to reach
PPLE before July.

For preparatory courses and materials, please
refer to the testing organisations mentioned
above. Students residing in the Netherlands
are recommended to visit the British Language
Training Centre (BLTC) in Amsterdam:

Non-EEA applicants
For immigration purposes, all students who
are required to apply for a visa or residence
permit must demonstrate that they will meet
the English pro!ciency requirement before 1
May. #us you either need to provide PPLE
College with su"cient test scores of one of the
beforementioned test providers before this
deadline, or your most recent secondary edu-
cation transcript demonstrates that you will
meet the English requirement through your
diploma.
