Dear Dr. Carino,

I was very excited to hear about the job opening for an English teacher at Novi High School. Being from the
metro-Detroit area, I have known Novi as a very well-regarded school district, and with my experience with
education, students, and helping others, it would make me an essential asset to the Novi School District.

Graduating in 2027, I earned my Bachelor’s in Secondary Education for English from Central Michigan
University, while also obtaining two minors in both History and ASL. Throughout my time at CMU, I was
involved in the writing lab on campus. There, I helped students with editing and revising papers. This
worked to help other students with their writing and education while also helping me gain valuable
teaching experience. With the program I was involved in, part of our graduation requirement was to intern
in a classroom setting for a semester. With this experience, I created and presented lessons to the students
pertaining to the book they were reading at the time, I answered students' questions from writing
techniques to book analysis, and I also helped the teacher I was assisting grade and give written feedback
to students.

Novi High School would be an excellent fit for me because of your dedication to the students, per your
mission statement. I appreciate the aspect of life-long learning as that is something that I strive to do for
myself as well. Having this goal would make me an excellent fit to also pass this mindset along to all
students in the district. Your inclusivity with all of the clubs and sports available at the school is also
something that draws me to your district. My involvement with the Theater Program at my high school
would make me an excellent candidate, in any position, for assisting in this program. Also at my high school
I was involved in an independent study with one of our teachers. She and I worked together to build a
personalized curriculum for a film class. Film is something that has always interested me and building a film
class for Novi High School to expand and diversify the choices for English classes in Novi could be
possible in the future.
