Uninstallation can be verified by navigating to the Device Manager after the Cypress
Software and Drivers have been uninstalled. Verify that the three items highlighted in
Figure 3 in red are displayed as “Standard PS/2 Keyboard” and “PS/2 Compatible Mouse”
in the “Keyboards” and “Mice and other pointing devices” categories respectively. For
SMBus communication enabled releases, there exists one “Unknown device” in “Other
devices” (which is associated with the SMBus device) which can be checked by navigating
to the device’s properties. If the device manager appears as shown below, the Cypress
Trackpad software and drivers are verified to be successfully uninstalled.
In Windows8, the device manager can be accessed by opening an Explorer window, and
right clicking on the “My Computer” icon and selecting Manage from the drop down list.
Proceed to navigate to the Device Manager option in the Computer Manager application
and follow the steps below.
Figure 3
NOTE: During the verification, it should be confirmed that the “Human Interface Devices”
category is not listed in the device manager. If a “Human Interface Devices” category is listed,
the user should verify that the “Cypress Input Device” is NOT the driver that is listed under this
category. If the “Cypress Input Device” is listed in this section, please right-click this driver
and select “Uninstall”. Once uninstalled, reboot the host system. Once verified, proper
installation of the Cypress Trackpad Software and Drivers can then be accomplished.
Following uninstallation in any Operating Systems, the system must be rebooted prior to any
installation process being executed, as described in the section 2.1.1.1. After verification of
successful uninstallation, proceed to section 2.1.2 for installing the updated software.
