Plating Operations
SKC offers a coated filter wipe that
meets the specifications of OSHA
Method W4001 for hexavalent
chromium on surfaces in chrome
plating operations. The SKC
Hexavalent Chromium Wipe is
a 37-mm binderless quartz filter
coated with sodium hydroxide. Un-
like uncoated filter wipes, sampling
with the coated wipe stabilizes the
sample against acid interference in
chrome plating environments and
eliminates the need for extracting
the sample in the field. Analysis is
by ion chromatography with UV
detector. Each aluminized package
of 10 wipes includes plastic forceps
for proper handling of the samples
according to the method, pk/10.

Make lead and other surface metal sample preparation and analysis easy with Ghost Wipes. Sturdy
Ghost Wipe material holds together even when used on the roughest surfaces. In the lab, Ghost Wipes
readily and completely dissolve during digestion to provide a more complete dispersion of the analyte of
interest for maximum recovery. Ghost Wipes dissolve so completely, there is no messy fibrous material
to clog the sample uptake capillary or nebulizer.

The easy-to-use Surface Swab Kit is ideal for
determining the relative degree and type of
biological contamination in an area. This non-
destructive method can be used safely on most
surfaces and materials. Each kit includes 10 sterile
swabs in transport tubes and 10 templates.
Stick-to-it consists of a flexible
plastic microscope slide with
an adhesive area. Simply iden-
tify the sample area on the slide
label, press the adhesive area
to the surface, place the slide
in the provided slide mailer,
and send it to a laboratory for
analysis.
