ACTIVITIES
Projects handled:
1. E-cradle: -
A prototype is developed which gives a reliable and efficient baby monitoring system that
can play a vital role in providing better infant care. This system monitor vital parameters
such as body temperature, pulse rate, movement of an infant and this information is
transferred to their parents. It is an innovative, smart & protective Cradle System to nurture
an infant in an efficient way. This system considers all the minute details required for the
care & protection of the Baby in the cradle. A prototype is developed which gives a reliable
and efficient baby monitoring system that can play a vital role in providing better infant
care. This system monitor vital parameters such as body temperature, pulse rate,
movement of an infant and this information is transferred to their parents with the help of
IoT.

2. Automated speed breaker on time demand:-

This project presents the design and implementation of new indigenous low cost
automatic speed breakers and comes on the road when needed. It disappears from
the road and the road becomes flat and when there is a need then the breaker comes
on the road from ground and it starts its working of slowing speed of the vehicles. This
model aims to provide an ease of installation of the speed breaker on the roads and
minimizes its unnecessary presence on the roads by analyzing the speed on the
vehicles. This model also aims towards the safety of the driver minimizing pollution.
This model also keeps track of the vehicles and Saints notification if the rules are
violated while it passes over the breaker/hump.

3. Design and fabrication of active EEG electrodes and miniaturization of

bioamplifier for BCI application:-
In this project, compact electroencephalography (EEG) active electrodes for constant
observation of brain wave are made. Fundamental advancement in this undertaking is
the improvement of high performance dry active electrodes, which are more practical
and wearable than wet electrodes. This device was constructed with discrete low
power, simple and digitally integrated circuits. The SMD version of the bio-amplifier is
designed to compatibly work with the active electroencephalogram EEG electrodes
and perform equally or way better than the existing bio-amplifier version and the size
of this version being few folds smaller than older version becomes an added advantage
to minimize the overall size of the brain-computer interface system.

4. Industrial Automation using IoT:-
In this project, a system is developed which can automatically monitor the industrial
applications and generate Alerts/Alarms or take intelligent decisions using concept of IOT.
IOT has given us a promising way to build powerful industrial systems and applications by
using wireless devices, Android, and sensors. Industrial automation is the use of control
systems, such as computers or robots, and information technologies for handling different
processes and machineries in an industry to replace a human being.

5. Intelligent crop production and irrigation monitoring using IoT:-

In this project, implementation is done by defining a co-ordinate in the field which consists
separate valve which has seeds, at the defined co-ordinates the seeds are sowed in the
field. Rain gun irrigation mechanism attached, is connected to the water pump, the other
end of the pipe is near to the root of the plant. The flow of water is managed by valve. The
opening and closing of valve is done when a signal is send through microcontroller. The
water to the root of plant is done drop by drop using rain gun and when the moisture level
again become normal then sensor senses it and send a signal to microcontroller and the
valve is then closed. Many sensors like temperature sensors, P-H sensor, and moisture
sensor are used and the values given by these sensors are computed in cloud and
are monitored through mobile system. The whole system is working on wireless
technology. Cloud acts as a front end to access Internet of Things.

6. IoT based Smart Parking System:-

In this project, when the vehicle arrive at the gate the driver will connect to the parking
Wi-Fi and its homepage will have the real time data the available to the driver about
the number of available parking space, if all the parking space are full the gate will not
open and display the message on the page with “no parking available and
approximately waiting time”. If the parking is available homepage will give the option
to select the floor to park if parking is available and the parking spot. A real time
position detector in the Wi-Fi range can suggest the nearest available parking to the
driver to avoid longer distance to be travelled for parking. Once the vehicle reaches
the spot each parking space has Infra-red sensor available on floor of the parking slot.
When the car crosses stands right above the IR sensor the Wi-Fi client node updates
this information to master node available at the entrance. This will change the number
of parking space available and when the car is parked it will ask the driver on the
homepage about approx parking time.

7. Wireless LPG Level Monitoring with Leakage Detection:-

This project is implemented using Arduino Uno platform. The design of a wireless LPG
(Liquefied Petroleum Gas) level monitoring is used in kitchen automation. The
developed device continuously monitors the level of the LPG present in the cylinder
using load sensor (weight sensor) via SMS. The user sets gas level, by weight of
cylinder says around 2kg. When load cell weighs the cylinder to be 2 kgs. The device
automatically books the cylinder for refueling using a GSM module, At the same time
the message will be displayed on LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) as “Booking Cylinder”.
In addition, leakage monitoring system is proposed for home safety. This system
detects the leakage of the LPG and alerts the consumer about the leak by SMS and
as an emergency measure the system will turn off the power supply.

8. Smart Attendance System using IoT:-

In the smart attendance system the RFID reader will be present which will be sending the
signals continuously ,the id card will contain the RFID tag which will receive these radio
wave signals to use as the power. The RFID tag will store the a unique id in the memory
of the RFID card .When the student comes to the institution the student has to show the
3
RFID tag to the RFID reader ,when the signals are sent from the reader to the tag ,the tag
will respond by sending the unique id of the tag to reader .the RFID reader is connected
to a microprocessor which in turn send the data to server where the database stores the
details of the students with the unique id of the tag as primary key .A search of that key is
carried out ,if the record is not found then a negative response is sent to the
microprocessor and the student is not allowed to enter the institution. If the record is found
then the time of arrival is stored inside the database and a mail is sent to the parent with
the time of arrival. When the student leave the institution the tag should been again made
to be in contact with the reader which sends the signal to microprocessor and
Microprocessor to the server where time of leaving is stored and a mail is again send to
parent with time.

9. SOLEFUL – An Assistive Navigational Technology for the Visually Impaired:-

SOLEFUL is an assistive navigational tool for the visually impaired, where it detects the
obstacles around the user and informs him/her through voice commands. Dividing the project
into three major parts: input, processing, and output. Where the input is taken from the
ultrasonic sensor modules, Processing is done by Microcontroller and output can be a speaker
or an earphone or a Bluetooth transmitter and receiver.
