Dieng Plateau is a marshy plateau that forms the floor of a caldera complex on the
Dieng Volcanic Complex in Wonosobo and Banjarnegara, Central Java, Indonesia. Refers
to the plateau as “ Dieng ”, it sits at 2,000 metres (6,600 ft) above sea level, far from major
population centers. The name "Dieng" comes from Di Hyang which means "Abode of the
Gods".
With an elevation of 2,060 m above sea level, Dieng has a distinct subtropical
highland climate under the Köppen climate classification (Cwb).
Known for its chilly weather, the temperatures may even drop to 2 degrees (along with
wind chills down to -2º) in the peak of its dry season. Though infrequent, frosts have been
recorded every year, particularly in late evenings and mornings of July and August. This
may last for one week in average. Though this regionally-rare weather phenomena
occasionally attracts tourists to cluster around the plateau area, it is also notorious for the
destruction that it often inflicts upon the local product, with agricultural plants and crops
such as potatoes being the most severely affected.

I went there with my family and my aunts’ families on July 6th. In the morning my dad drove
us to the train station in Amstetten. We met my cousins Simon, Philipp, Sophie, Anna and
Rosa with their parents. On the train we had a lot of fun. When we were in Salzburg we had
to walk for quarter of an hour to the “Haus der Natur”. In this museum there were many
different fish, a laboratory with a whale- and -dinosaur exhibition. We had lunch in an Italian
restaurant and I had a tuna pizza. After that, we walked to the “Festung Hohensalzburg“.
There we ate ice-cream and drank lemonade. We visited the castle. On the way to the train
station we walked through the “Getreidegasse” and we saw the “Mozart house”. It was a
great trip and I would like to do it again.

morning as they always did. I asked them, "Can I skip school today?" (this question was
probably asked quite often by plenty of children). My dad responded, "Of course you can, if
you get up, get dressed and make your bed quickly enough." I credulously believed him,
and did everything as fast as I could. I didn’t realize that my dad played a trick on me until I
learnt that it was the first of April, April Mop.

How to use a clothes steamer
1. Prepare the steamer for use.
Pour cold water into the water tank of your clothing steamer. Make sure that all of the
parts of the steamer are secured properly, you don't want to leak water all over the
place.
Plug the steamer in. Steamers usually heat up fairly quickly (2-3 minutes). Allow your
steamer to heat until steam begins to form. Be sure to let your steamer warm up all of
the way to get the best results.
Make sure it is steaming nicely before you use it. You can check how well it is steaming
by pulling the trigger on the handle / pressing the button, and seeing how much steam
issues when you release it. This is the same button you will use while steaming your
clothes.
3. Steam your garment by running the steamer in downward strokes along the
fabric.
You don't need to press hard or push the fabric against anything, the steam will gently
remove the wrinkles on its own. As you slide the steamer down your garment, press the
steam button every so often to apply steam to the fabric.
19. What will probably happen if all of the parts of the steamer are not well set?
A. The place will be wet because the water gets out through the steamer.
B. The steamer warms up all of the way to get the best results.
C. The steamer will be nicely steaming by pressing the button.
D. The water tank will be full of our clothing steamer.

Clouds may look fluffy and innocent, but they are actually active things. At their
most exciting event, they can create the wondrous effect of lightning.
Water and ice move around inside the cloud; forced up by warm air currents,
down by gravity, and compressed in the cloud. Just as rubbing a balloon can create
static electricity, the particles in the cloud become charged. It’s not clear how it happens,
but charges separate in the cloud. The positive charges move up, and the negatives
move down.
Once a significant charge separation has built up, the positive and negative
charges seek to reach each other and neutralize. ‘Streamers’ come up from the ground
to form a pathway. Once a pathway is completed a spark forms, neutralizing the charge.
As the negative charge races down, the air surrounding it heats up. The spark is
very hot at almost 20,000 degrees Celsius, and it rapidly heats the air to create a shock
wave.
Considering light travels very fast – about 300 million meters per second, and
that sound only travels at 300 meters per second; light is a million times faster than the
sound produced. To find out how far away the storm is, you can count how long you hear
the sound after the lightning. For every 4 seconds between the flash and the rumble, the
thunderstorm is 1 mile away.
