The difference between fm radio and am radio in different criteria

I. in sound quality

AM has poorer sound quality, and a lower bandwidth but is cheaper and can be
transmitted over long distances as it has a lower bandwidth that is why it can
hold more stations available in any frequency range. FM is less affected by
interference, but FM signals are impacted by physical barriers. They have a better
sound quality due to higher bandwidth.
II. Constant parameters
AM the frequency and phase remaining the same.FM the amplitude and phase
remain the same.
III. Frequency range
AM radio ranges from 535 to 1700 kHz or up to 1200 bits per second. FM radio
ranges in a higher spectrum from 88.1 to 108.1MHz. Or up to 1200 to 2400 bits
per second.
IV. Complexity
AM transmitters and receivers are less complex than FM and PM, but
synchronization is needed in the case of SSBSC carriers. FM transmitters are more
complex than AM because the variation of modulating signal has to be converted
and detected from the corresponding variation in frequencies.

From the above criteria FM is better than AM radio.

2. When FM and AM is recordable

Using FM recommendable because of the following

 able to send out two channels of information simultaneously

 Able to produce stereo sound by utilizing both the left and right audio channels.
 The signal does not degrade as easily and the environmental factors which disrupt AM signals do
not affect frequency.
 sound quality
 More local and cannot be transmitted over long distance. it may take more FM radio stations to
cover a large area
Using AM recommendable because of the following
 Signal can cover a longer distance..
 Low cost b/c one station can cover large area.
 Easy to detect with simple equipment, even if the signal is not very strong.
3. example
Based on the above information and the other information FM radio is used to large number
of people which are used radio frequently but when the radius of the area is increase other
station is needed. Also AM used to cover large area because of this for rural area, AM is
recommendable. And FM R radio recommendable town or area that has large number of
population.
