Strand/Section: STEM/ A Write a SHORT ESSAY on how social contexts surrounding a person contribute to his/her upbringing, beliefs and overall quality of life. Take example from your personal experience.
People and society have a reciprocal and complementary relationship.
People’s personalities and cultures depend on the processes and events occurring in their society. Similarly, society takes its shape from how people act, perceive, and interact with it. People acquire the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and culture embedded in a society. And every day, we encounter different people with different beliefs, traditions, and sayings. This difference influences our way of living in some way. As individuals, we all have many societal influences in our lives that help shape who we are today. The three main societal influences that I think are prominent in my life are my family, friends, and God. These three have helped me build into the person I am today. For instance, in our family, we are all part of the Catholic community. So as soon as I was born, my parents decided that I would be baptized in the Catholic Church. So how I see the world depends on my belief, which comes from God. Another example is that in my group of friends, all of us are academically active, so every time I'm with them, it encourages me and makes me feel excited to do my activities and to be better in school too. Based on the example that I gave, the people around you truly have a very big impact on your life because they are the ones that we interact with every day. These influences highly contribute to our upbringing, our beliefs, and our overall quality of life because the society and the people that are part of that society are directly proportional to each other, meaning they are related to each other. So if there's a change in the society it may impact the people that are part of it physically and emotionally. And also, if there is a change in the people in that society, it may also affect the society.
