A field experiment was conducted during 2022-23 in 5 years old guava orchard to study the
effect of integrated nutrient management practices on cropping and fruit quality of mrig-bahar
crop of guava (Psidium guajava L.) under high density plantation on the variety Sardar (L-49) at
experimental farm of the Department of Fruit Science, College of Horticulture and Forestry,
Neri, Hamirpur (HP). The experiment was laid out in randomized block design with five
replications. The experimental study comprised of five treatments which involved integrated
nutrient at treatment T1 (80 % RDF* with 4 kg vermicompost and NBF*), treatment T2 (60 %
RDF with 8 kg vermicompost and NBF), treatment T3 (40 % RDF with 12 kg vermicompost and
NBF), treatment T4 (20 % RDF with 15 kg vermicompost and NBF*) and treatment T5 (100 %
RDF and 25 kg manure). Best quality fruits were obtained from the plants treated with 80 %
RDF with 4 kg vermicompost and NBF as the fruits had maximum TSS, minimum acidity,
maximum fruit volume, highest average fruit weight, highest pectin content, highest ascorbic
acid content. The results of the plants treated with 80 % RDF with 4 kg vermicompost and NBF
were of superior quality in parameters like fruit length, fruit breadth, total sugars, reducing and
non-reducing sugars, trunk girth than all other treatments and took minimum days to reach
maturity. The plants treated with 80 % RDF with 4 kg vermicompost and NBF gave 43.40%
more yield than the plants under control. The data compilation and analysis is being done in the
month of March and the data tabulation, interpretation and thesis writing will be done in further
period.
