Activity Guide and Evaluation Rubric – Task 4 let’s talk about obligations and
needs in your job.

With this activity, you are expected to achieve the following learning
outcomes:

The student will be able to explain his/her experience about his/her job, linking
phrases with fluency, self-confidence, vocabulary, and pronunciation in a video and
an oral practice developed with the tutor and partners.
The activity consists of:
An oral practice activity in which the student has to talk about his/her obligations and
needs in his/her job.

Step 1: Practice pronunciation.


Go to the online content, Module 5. Exercise 1. Listen to the audio, practice the
pronunciation of all the text and record yourself telling the same information.
You must complete the exercise using the structure of present perfect and the
words you find in the exercise building complete sentences. Then share your answers
in audio, NOT screenshots.

You have to record the complete presentation, not only the words.

Record the audio with the tool you find in the forum. The recording must not be
longer than two minutes.
Follow the image that indicates how to record.

Step 2: Video talking about obligations.


Enter Module 5 and study the use of present perfect. This topic you will use in this
activity.

In activity #2, you were writing about the obligations and needs you have in your
job. Use the text you wrote in that activity and that you sent in the final product to
answer the following questions using the structure of present perfect.

a. Where have you worked? I have worked in…


b. How many years have you worked there?
I have worked in___ for _____years.
c. Have you felt good or bad in your job?
d. Have you fulfilled all the obligations of your job? Mention and explain
them, at four of each one.

You have to give answer through a video in which you explain this clearly, using
vocabulary and the correct grammatical structure. Begin the video with your own
presentation, telling your name, age, what are you studying, your occupation, then
continue giving answer to each question.

Is necessary to create a script to organize your ideas before the video.


Example:
Hello, my name is Luisa Nuñez. I am 30 years old and I study business administration.
I work at Éxito mall as a cashier and I have worked there for five years. I have felt
comfortable and happy with my job because I have learnt to assist people, to identify the
bills when they are false, I have developed the skill to memorize codes of each thing and
prices and besides I have time to study and to be with my family.
I have to fulfill with many obligations to do a good job like, I must collect payments whether
in cash or credit, I must scan goods and ensure pricing is accurate, I must maintain clean
and tidy checkout areas and I must resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide
relevant information.

Where to record the video.


You have to record the video using the tool that you find inside the collaborative
forum, like the image shows to you.

With this tool, your video cannot be longest of two minutes. The video have to be
posted on the forum.
You have to appear in this, giving your explanation. You must share the file to your
video in the forum.

Step 3: Participation in Student Talking Time (STT).


As a way to help students improve their English level, pronunciation, and speaking
skills, each teacher will develop some practical workshops named Student Talking
Time.
Be attentive to the tutor's invitation to these workshops, which you must attend to
improve and learn English. During these sessions, you will practice your English. The
invitation will be sent by mail. The teacher will share with you the schedule in which
these workshops will be developed.
You will have to attend at least two times to gain some points for your final grade.
Take a screenshot while in the workshop, register your attendance, and add this to
the final task.
In this Student Talking Time, you can share your opinions in English with the tutor
and partners.
The evidence must show your name and face; therefore, you must open the camera
during your participation.

Optional: Face to face practice.
The student can participate in a face-to-face practice with tutor. Tutor will share a
schedule in a drive document through skype. The student have to register in the day
he/she is available. In this face-to-face practice teacher will listen the student who
will give answer to each question of the step 2 using the present perfect structure.
The student must listen each question and give answer to them without reading, like
in an interview.
The drive document will be shared by mail.
At the end of this practice, the student must take a screenshot and share this on the
forum.

Step 4: Self-evaluation.
After developing all the steps of the activity, answer the self-evaluation you find like
Appendix 1 - Self-evaluation Task 4, then take a screenshot that shows you did
this and add this to the final task.

Step 5: Organize your final task in the template.


Organize all the steps of the activity in the template you find with the guide. This
template is found like Appendix 2 - Template - Final Task 4 - Talking about
your job.
Then, send in a PDF document the final task by the Evaluation environment.
Check the rubric and be sure you have done all the steps that this evaluates.
For the development of the activity consider that:

In the initial information environment, you must check the agenda to verify the
opening and closing of the task.

In the learning environment, you must check out and study the online content.
Enter the forum and participate with your audio and video in it. In this environment
you find all the appendixes to use for the final task.

In the evaluation environment, you must upload a PDF document with the
organization of all the steps required in the guide.

2. General Guidelines for the Development of Evidences to Submit

For Individual evidences, consider the following:


✓ Each student must participate in the forum, and each step must be evidenced.
✓ The final task must be sent individually, organized in the template given with a
guide and must be sent by the evaluation environment
Please keep in mind that all individual or collaborative written products must comply
with the spelling rules and presentation conditions defined in this activity guide.
Regarding the use of references, consider that the product of this activity must
comply with APA style.
In any case, make sure you comply with the rules and avoid academic plagiarism.
You can review your written products using the Turnitin tool found in the virtual
campus.

Under the Academic Code of Conduct, the actions that infringe the academic order,

another person. It also implies the use of citations or lack of references, or it
