02. Look again at lines 13–21. In your own words, explain what the writer thinks about storytelling.

The writer explains that she thinks that Adichie majorly impacted the world of storytelling. She
believes that there are many stories to be told and many people to tell them. She further goes on
to explain how nowadays with modern technology finding new stories is not difficult. You can read
or hear stories about people around the globe with just one click. She also states that stories unite
people, make us feel emotions and helps heal the broken ones.

03. From lines 37–51, describe how the writer reacts to the theft of her bike. You may support your
points with brief quotations.

The writer describes her initial reaction to the boy stealing her bike as one normally would; “I look
up…and I’m on the floor, and I’m crying”. She begins to scream for help in her native language;
“Mwizi, mwizi!”. Immediately people rush to her side and hunt down the thief, a young boy of
around 11-12 years old. After he was caught the people made him apologize to her which she
accepted with anger. Yet somehow the young boy was angrier than her. He stares her down with
a look described by the writer to be questioning her with; “You, with your shiny skin and your bike,
you’re angry at me?”.
