Title: The educational opportunities: The effect of environment to the student performance

during Covid-19 pandemic.

ABSTRACT

This study finds the possible problem of the student who is studying during the

pandemic time. Academic performance involves factors such as intellectual level, personality,

motivation, skills, interests, study habits, self-esteem, or the teacher-student relationship. This

study aims to know what kind of environment will affect the academic performance of a

student. Moreover, it will only focus on the environment that will affect the academic

performance of Grade 11 student of Congressional Integrated Highschool and will not cover

other problems that are not considered or related to our research. This study makes use of

Qualitative research that involves collecting and analyzing non-numerical data to understand

concepts, opinions, or experiences and also uses survey questionnaires using online platform

to collect data from the respondents. Furthermore, the study reported that the environment

that greatly affects the students’ performance during Covid-19 pandemic is their home

environment for they are having a hard time focusing on their class sessions due to different

distractions in their surroundings such as house chores, mind wandering, loud environment,

online games and unstable internet connection which makes the students’ learning shallower

and spottier; they understand less and have difficulty recalling their lessons which will affect

their academic performance.
