Ellie and the Rainy Day

Ellie woke up excited. She planned so many fun things to do outside. She
expected the bright sun to welcome her but all she saw were dark grey
clouds and rain. “NOOOO! My day is ruined! What can I do now?”

“What’s wrong, Ellie? I heard you from your room”

“It’s raining and now I can’t do anything fun!” Ellie pouted. Her dad wiped
her tears and said “Just because it’s raining doesn’t mean we can’t have
fun. Let me show you!” They put on their raincoats and went outside.

Looking around the raindrops, Ellie wondered what fun could they have.
“What else can we do with the rain, dad? It’s just rain.”
“We can do lots of things, Ellie. Like this one!”
Splash! Suddenly, his dad began to jump up and down the puddle. She
jumped too, laughing as the water splashed against her raincoat.

“Hahaha! This is fun!”

“Let’s twirl our umbrellas and sing to the rain!” “La la la la”

Ellie and her dad went back inside. Her dad started preparing some
snacks while Ellie started painting the activities they just did. “Hmm, I’ll call
this ‘The Rainy Day Art”.

When the rain stopped, Daddy took Ellie outside. “There’s one more fun
thing I want to show you. Look at the sky!”
“Wow! A rainbow! The colors are beautiful!”
“You see, Ellie, a rainy day is not that bad at all.”
