CASE STUDY

Stablish the problem

Mary, a last year school student, she doesn’t know basic vocabulary as food, numbers, and
colors. Teacher Kevin must help his student to learn that in order to approve the course.

A solution could be:

• To ask her to use duolingo


• To do practical activities
• To teach the vocabulary through games
• To make her connect the vocabulary with thigs that she already knows.

Choosing the solution:

To build a case study in order to make her relate the topic with typical thigs in her
environment and applying it in a meaningful way.

Socialize the solution:

Teacher Kevin has built a case study assessment and he explains his student Mary how they
will work:

At the beginning teacher presents the vocabulary.

Then teacher presents this problem to Mary: You go to the store and you want to buy some
fruit. You must tell exactly what you want. Also, you should ask about the price

Then he asks Mary to answer the following questions the following:

• What is your top 3 of favorite fruit?


• Which one will you ask for first?
• The man has many varieties of the same fruit. Could you specify the color ?
• It’s time to pay. Ask him about the total price
