FIVE GOLDEN SPELLING RULES “ING”

RULE 1
Read -> Reading
Add ING the most verbs.
A la mayoría de los verbos solo se les agrega ING Sleep -> Sleeping

RULE 2
Write -> Writing
If a verb ends in letter E say “goodbye” to letter E and add ING.
Si un verbo termina en letra E dile “adiós” a la letra E y añade ING. Give -> Giving

RULE 3
Get -> Getting
If a verb ends in a consonant- vowel-consonant, double the final and add ING.
Si un verbo termina en consonante – vocal – consonante, duplica la letra final y añade ING. Stop -> Stopping

RULE 4
Lie -> Lying
If a verb ends in –ie, we replace it wit Y + ING.
Si un verbo termina en –ie replázalo por una Y + ING. Tie -> Tying

RULE 5
Play -> Playing
If a verb ends in Y or W DON’T double final and just add ING.
Si un verbo termina en Y o en W, NO DUPLIQUES LA LETRA FINAL y solo añade el ING. Draw -> Drawing
