I'm finally going to school this year, My hair is washed, my sneakers squeak,

and now the day is come, I'm so excited, I can hardly speak!

I'll learn how to write, count and read, New things to do, new friends to meet--

Only two more days till school. Hooray! It's the first day of school!

I’ve got a brand new lunchbox, I look inside my classroom

My shoes are clean. I stand there for a while

I’ve got a new pencil case, My teacher’s tall and angry

And a pencil box that’s blue. But has a great big smile

New pants and shirts and socks for Who is my teacher?

Where is my desk?
New bag for me;
I don’t know if I’ll like the kids
I'll sing and dance and play--
Or if they’ll play with me.
Only one more day till school.

And, best of all, she’s got my

Favorite book on the shelf.

I kiss my mother at the door

And walk in by myself.
