A Great Team

Lisa Jones is a deaf twelve-year- old girl, and her dog, Wolf, is blind. Together they
are great friends and a perfect team. When they are out, Lisa is Wolf’s eyes, and
Wolf is Lisa’s ears. Lisa says, “Wolf is my best friend. We do everything together
and we really communicate. Wolf always wants to be next to me. And I talk to him
a lot so he knows exactly where I am.”
Every day, Lisa and her dog go for a walk together. Lisa looks for obstacles for
Wolf, and he listens for cars and other traffic to help Lisa to go across the road
safely.
Wolf sleeps in the kitchen. In the mornings, Lisa’s mother first wakes Wolf. Then
Wolf wakes Lisa because she can’t hear when her mom shouts “Get up!”
