SUBJECT : Survey among Birthing Homes to Gather Data for the Drafting
the Proposed Revision of Administrative Order (AQ)No. 2008-0008
of
titled “Rules and Regulations Governing the Regulation of Blood
Service Facilities”

The emerging trends and new technologies in blood banking procedures that have been
introduced have led to the necessity of updating the current licensing guidelines of the
Administrative Order No. 2008-0008 titled “Rules and Regulations Governing the Regulation
of Blood Service Facilities”. In relation to this, the Health Facilities and Services Regulatory
Bureau (HFSRB) through the Standards Development Division (SDD) is conducting a survey
among DOH-licensed birthing homes that may have facilitated blood transfusions. The aim of
the survey is to gather data to be utilized in the drafting of the revised proposed policy for the
licensure of such facilities. Hence, all birthing homes, whether private or government owned,
are enjoined to participate in this survey.
