As I already explained to you in the first meeting, today we will learn about Greetings and

Self-introduction. There are many ways of greetings that maybe you already knew, and of
course in greetings, there is also a formal form and informal form. Can you mention them?

In self-introduction, there are two ways for introducing yourself; formal and informal way,
and as a student we will learn both of them. At first, I want to explain the formal one. There
are several points that you need to put in your introduction in a formal way:

1. Greetings (in formal way)


2. Mentioned your name

    a. I am .... 

    b. My name is ... 

    c. This is ... (if you are in a conference or in a call)

3. Location or Origin 

    a. I am from ... (city)

    b. I'm ... (nationality)

    c.  I come from ... (if you came from a quite far place from the place you introduce
yourself)

    d.  I was born and raised in ... or I was born in ... but raised in ...

    e. I grew in …. (city/country) but now live in ... or I'm originally from .. (city/country)but I'm
now based in ...

    f. I've been living in …. (country) for .. years/months or I've spent the past few years in ...
(country)

4. Position and Company

    a. I work at/for ... (company) in the ... department, don't use I work in ...

    b. I am a … (position) at/for ... (company)

    c. I work in ... (general area) - I work in sales.

    d. I work as a .... (position) 

e. I am a student of anesthesiology study program in ‘Universitas ‘Aisyiyah Yogyakarta

f. I am an anesthesiology student/graduate of UNISA

5. Qualifications

    a. I am a student of ... (university name)


    b. I am about to graduate. (saya akan segera lulus) / I am a freshman in UNISA.

    c. I am a "subject" graduate.

    d. I have a bachelor (diploma bachelor) of ... (your education bachelor degree)

    e. I'm currently taking a course in ... (for theoretical subject, e.g. math) / .. course on ...
(practical subject, e.g. nursing)

    f. I am taking a ... (subject) course.

6. Experience 

    a. I have ... (number) years of experience in the .. (occupation) field, e.g. I have 3 ears of
experience in the anesthesiology field.

    b. I have ... (number) years of ... (occupation) experience, e.g. I have 10 years of
anesthesiology experience.

    c. I've worked in ... (occupation) field for ... (unit of time), e.g. I've worked in the English
education field for 3 years. 

7. Family

    a. I'm from a family of ... (number).

    b. We are a family of ... (number).

    c. I am one of ... (number) siblings.

    d. I am an only child in my family

 8. Hobbies  (additional information)

     a. I am a big fan of tennis ball (hobby)

     b. I am a keen .. (noun), e.g. I am a keen runner.

9. Age (not mentioned it clearly)

    a. I am ... (number) years old

    b. I am ... (number)

    c. I am in my (early/mid/late) ... decade (teens, 20s, 30s, etc.)

  10. Fun fact (sometimes it can also be mentioned)

a. An interesting fear
b. A weird like or dislike
c. Facts about your pet
d. A strange achievement or extraordinary experience
