NOTICE FOR EXTENSION OF TIME FOR TAKING APPLICATION FORMS TO


CONDUCT THE GENERAL ELECTION

The general secretary of the electoral committee on behalf of the electoral committee is hereby
informing and announcing to the general public that because some essential posts have no
contestants, there IS THREE HOURS EXTENSION OF TIME from 1930hrs to 2230hrs to
take application for MUSO general election with the total of SEVEN posts to be contested: -

1. Presidential post and vice president (male & female and vice versa) posts
2. Second board representative post
3. Female board representative
4. Faculty Representative(s) post
5. Female Representative
6. Class representative(s) post
7. Block/ hostel representative(s)

Qualifications of Contestant
All contestants of any post in the general election must have the following general
qualifications or attributes: -

(i) The contestant should be persons of good character and acceptable to other members
of the Organization.

(ii) The contestant should be ready to safeguard the common interests of members of the
Organization.
(iii) The contestant should not be the holder of an office in any political party or even
engaging in active Political Parties activities before or while in the MUSO Office
or using MUSO name or resources.
(iv) Clean studentship record without any implications in disorderliness or infractions of
University rules and regulations.
(v) Being held in high esteem by members of the Organization
(vi) The contestant should be the person of excellent academic performance as defined by
the MUSO Constitution, save for the qualifications of any member to be eligible to
hold the Presidential, the Vice President, second board representative post, Female
board representative and Faculty Representative(s) post shall include the following:
-
(a)Excellent academic performance with g r a d e p o i n t a v e r a g e ( GPA) of not less
than 3.5 points in previous year or Years of studies and proven ability to sustain a
leadership responsibility without impairing academic performance

General requirements

(i) In respect of any provisions of the MUSO constitution, the contestant shall be required
to take the form to contest upon payment of the prescribed fee (non refundable), filling
the issued form and submitting it back to the electoral committee.

(ii) The Electoral Committee shall require for a proof of any academic qualification needed
for a person to stand in an election in such posts which the Committee shall determine.

(iii) No academic record shall be taken into consideration by the Electoral Committee unless
such record contains results which passed and declared at least at the level of the
School/Faculty board.

No person shall be declared to form part of the MUSO organization for the announced posts
without express intention.

For the purpose of this notice the term “intention” is defined to mean the act of the contestant
in personal to take the application form to contest upon payment of the prescribed fee, filling
the issued application form and submitting it back to the electoral committee and adherence to
any other activity of the similar nature as shall be scheduled by the electoral committee.
