Orientation

Hua Mulan is a Chinese girl who is very cheerful and energetic, and has a strong chi. She is the first
child of a respectable family from the Hua family because her father had been in war. Mulan is expected
to bring honor to her family by following an arranged marriage. However, at the time of the test, she
caused chaos and was considered to bring shame to her family.

Complication

At that moment, an emperor’s envoy arrived who conveyed the order that each family was obliged to
send one man to fight on the battlefield against the attack of the Huns who were assisted by a magician.
Meanwhile, Mulan’s family has no male members other than her own father. The condition of her
father, who is old and injured by the previous war, then makes Mulan run away from home with her
father’s war equipment and clothes. She disguises herself as a man by the name of Hua Jun and joins
other soldiers for pre-war training. In his training, Hua Jun won the trust of several of his friends and
commander Tung. However, in the middle of the war, Hua Jun decided to reveal his true identity,
namely as a woman. This disclosure of identity disappointed his friends, especially Commander Tung,
who had put their trust in him, until he was expelled from the army.

Resolution

At the end of the story, he still returns to the battlefield to protect the Chinese empire. But this time
not as Hua Jun, but as Hua Mulan. In the end she managed to save the emperor and kill the leader of
the Huns. Thanks to that she was appointed from a village girl to become a royal guard officer. That
way Mulan still brings honor to her family even though in a different way.
