WitHub is looking for Backend engineers to help build the world’s best enterprise search
platform. Creating a magical and intelligent experience for users requires applying the latest
and greatest technologies to optimise servers for speed and stability, implement security
structures, generate reusable code libraries and generate scalable data storage
solutions.

Soft Skills & Characteristics

- Good communication skills
- Up to date with current tools and technology
- Past work experience at an early stage (pre-seed - series A) startup is preferable

Technical Skills

Below is the list of the major pieces used in the stack that the candidate needs to be
proficient in.

Backend
- Experience with NodeJs JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks such as Express/Fastify,
Java & Python frameworks like Spring, FastAPI/Flask, and machine learning.
- Experience with ElasticSearch and/or Lucene/Solr, text mining and indexing
pipelines.
- Experience with highly scalable, distributed tools like Kafka, Cadence, Temporal, etc.
- Hands on experience in Design, Architecture, Implementation, Performance &
Scalability and Distributed Systems.
- Containerisation and deployment using Docker.
- Experience with SQL databases such as MySQL and Postgres.
- Knowledge of NLP and Deep Learning techniques and models such as GPT-3, T5
and BERT is a plus.
- Working knowledge of container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, Nomad and
Infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform is a plus.
- Working knowledge of AWS services (S3, EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda, etc.)
