Good morning colleagues and audience. My name is Santiago Lira Ordaz and
today I am going to present the 6th goal in the UN Agenda for 2030: Affordable
energy and non-contaminant alternatives.
As most of you know the energy industry is a contaminant factor that produces
toxic gases to the atmosphere and to the living beings. Electricity is a resource that
comes from the combustion of fossil fuels like coal, petrol and natural gas, all of
them are non-renewable resources and really contaminant agents, apart from the
lack of these materials that are disappearing because of our fault.
The affordable energy is a distant reality that a little bit of country´s can be proud
of, because of its precedence it is really expensive, but those country´s have
alternatives to the classic energy production, they count with alternative or
renewable energy that can be really cheap.
You must be questioning the reason, so the renewable energy comes from
organic processes that can be from: The sunlight, the wind force, the sea, lakes or
rivers stream, geothermal energy and a couple more of natural sources. Here, I
present you four points to make this change easier.
Number 1. Society must save energy and if it is in our possibilities to install other
energy sources like solar panels.
Number 2. Private initiative: Says that we mustn´t use electric energy in excess.
Number 3. Academy: Fortify the investigation for new energy sources, helps to
create solutions to the current problem and supports the calculation of the impact.
And finally the
Number 4. Government should make easier, bigger and a better use of non-
contaminant energy.
Finally I invite you to don’t use electricity in excess, and to use it in a responsible
way, also try new ways to power up your things or devices like portable solar
panels or solar batteries.
