COURSE OUTCOMES: On completion of the course, the students will be able to:
CO 1: Understanding of the dynamic challenges faced by entrepreneurial ventures in securing financial backing to support
future growth and development and identify the role of private equity investors–for example, angels, VCs, vendors–
in startups.
CO 2: Examine the venture capital funding procedure which involves six stages of financing corresponding to the periods
of a company’s development.
CO 3: Appreciating the high risk involved in the venture capital investments weighing the risk return ratio expected.
CO 4: Critically assess the ability of a venture capitalist to add value to the companies they invest in and understand how
VC funds are structured.
CO 5: Evaluate and apply VC fund investment opportunity from the viewpoint of an institutional investor.
