1. Loosen the right front seat and tilt it to the rear with lines connected. → 720119 REMOVING
AND INSTALLING FRONT SEAT
2. Remove inner door sill trim at the right. → 680519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING INNER
DOOR SILL TRIM

Always comply with the regulations for handling ESD-sensitive components!
Assembly work may only be carried out if the mechanic is wearing the working clothes and shoes

The new part must only be removed from the ESD (electrostatic discharge) protective packaging
just before installation and at the position at which the part is to be installed .
2. Secure control unit for transmission-oil pump -1- with fastening nuts -2- . Tightening torque
8 Nm (6 ftlb.)

2. Install inner door sill trim at the right. → Installing Inner Door Entry Guard

3. Unscrew fastening screw -2- securing ATF lines -3- to the thermostat.

Danger of scalding
3. Tighten fastening screw used to secure ATF line to the thermostat → Tightening torque: 8
Nm (6 ftlb.)+/-0.8 Nm (+/-0.5 ftlb.) .

4. Tighten the three fastening screws used to secure the centre air guide to → Tightening
torque: 5 Nm (3.5 ftlb.)+/-0.5 Nm (+/-0.5 ftlb.) → 192419 REMOVING AND INSTALLING

5. ATF thermostat
2. Loosen holder -1- for ATF lines at the front of the transmission.

Loosen the front fastening screw -1- for the ATF lines -2- on the ATF heat exchanger -3- and
pull it out.
Close off the ATF lines and bores in the heat exchanger using suitable stoppers.

5. Lift the automatic transmission using a suitable jack. → Installing Automatic Transmission
6. Loosen the fastening screw -1- on the holder -2- for ATF lines -3- at the thermostat -4- .

Close off the ATF lines and bores at the thermostat using suitable stoppers.
9. Detach holder -1- for ATF lines at the front of the engine.

10. Detach holder -1- for ATF lines at the rear of the engine.

11. Remove ATF line out of the vehicle and set it aside.
12. Loosen fastening screws -1- for the heat shield -2- at the automatic transmission -3- .

Loosen the fastening screw -1- for the ATF lines -2- at the bottom of the transmission -3- .

Close off the ATF lines and transmission bores using suitable stoppers.
15. Loosen the fastening screw -1- on the holder -2- for ATF lines -3- at the thermostat -4- .

Close off the ATF lines and bores at the thermostat using suitable stoppers.
17. Remove engine carrier. → 103019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING ENGINE CARRIER
18. Detach holder -1- for ATF lines at the front of the engine.

21. Remove ATF line out of the vehicle and set it aside.
23. Loosen fastening screws -1- for the heat shield -2- at the automatic transmission -3- .

Loosen the fastening screw -1- on the ATF lines -2- at the bottom of the transmission -3- .

Close off the ATF lines and transmission bores using suitable stoppers.
Loosen the rear fastening screw -1- for the ATF lines -2- on the ATF heat exchanger -3- and
pull it out.
Close off the ATF lines and bores in the heat exchanger using suitable stoppers.

Information
The sealing rings at the ends of the ATF lines on the transmission and cooler sides must be
replaced before installation .

3. Place holder -1- for ATF lines on the rear of the engine and screw in fastening screw to →
Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.) .

4. Place ATF lines on the front of the engine and fit the holder -1- to → Tightening torque: 10
Nm (7.5 ftlb.) .

6. Place holder -2- for ATF lines -3- to the ATF thermostat -4- in position.

17. Place holder -1- for ATF lines on the rear of the engine and screw in fastening screw to →
Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.) .

18. Place ATF lines on the front of the engine and fit the holder -1- to → Tightening torque: 10
Nm (7.5 ftlb.) .

20. Place holder -2- for ATF lines -3- to the ATF thermostat -4- in position.

27. Position the rear ATF line -2- on the ATF heat exchanger -3- .

thermostat -4- .
3. Pull ATF lines -3- from transmission to thermostat out of the thermostat -4- .

4. Loosen fastening screw -1- on holder -2- for ATF lines -5- at the thermostat -3- .
6. Pull the ATF thermostat -3- down off the ATF lines -5- for the cooler and towards the rear -A-
. Close off the lines with suitable stoppers.

Information

1. Replace sealing rings on the disconnected ATF lines and smear with ATF.
2. Fit the ATF thermostat -1- onto the ATF lines -2- for the ATF cooler -A- .

4. Position holder for ATF lines -4- to the ATF cooler and screw in fastening screw -5- . →
Tightening torque: 8 Nm (6 ftlb.)+/-0.8 Nm (+/-0.5 ftlb.)
5. Fit ATF lines -3- from the transmission into the thermostat -4- .
