 GCEM in Whitefield, Bangalore is an institute that

environment. The college promotes knowledge,

transformative Engineering education. GCEM
provides a broad-based curriculum with cross-faculty
enrichment and special programs that help students
realize their potential. GCEM is part of the Gopalan
Group, which was founded in 1984 and has
developed residential and commercial properties in
Bangalore, including educational institutions. The
college provides state-of-the-art infrastructure and
facilities for sports, games, and other co-curricular
activities. GCEM is ranked among the top 10
Engineering colleges in Bangalore.
DEPARTMENT OF AERONAUTICAL ENGINEERING
The Department of Aeronautical Engineering at
GCEM aims to train students to become top-class
engineers suitable for national and international
employment. The department offers a vibrant
academic atmosphere that promotes independent
research and exchange of ideas among students and
faculties. They also have continuous interaction with
reputable organizations such as Dassault Systems,
Collins Aerospace, ISRO, CSIR-NAL, Boeing,
Axiscades, Airbus and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited
to help students build the required skill set. Gopalan
Research Innovation and Training Centre (GRIT) is
established to promote innovation and research
activities, provide training on advancements, and
work with industries on R&D projects.
The Aeronautical Society of India (AeSI) is the
principal society in India serving the professions in
areas of Aeronautics, Aerospace and Aviation. Its’
stated primary purpose is to “advance the Sciences,
Engineering, Technology and Management of
Aerospace, Aeronautics and Aviation and to foster
and promote the professionalism of those engaged in
these pursuits”. The Aeronautical Society of India, a
professional body devoted to advancement of
Aeronautical Sciences and Engineering in India was
founded in 1948.
Aero Innovation and Skill Centre (AISC) under the
aegis of The Aeronautical Society of India supports
and encourages innovative technology-based
startups that have an application and/or impact in
Aero and Defence Industries which is one of the core
sectors of the Indian economy.
​A ISC acts as a platform to early-stage startups by
providing the technology, mentorship, required
skills, technical guidance, network assistance, office
space, access to industry mentors, subject matter
experts and interactions with various other
stakeholders in the industry.
AISC strives to launch and develop startups into
scalable, viable and profitable businesses.
