ISSUE:
When riding, small rocks and dirt thrown up by the rear wheel can collect on the chainstay yoke/bridge. With regular movement of
the rear triangle, this debris may chip paint or accumulate inside the motor cover. Whilst not considered harmful, riders may find it
an inconvenience.
SOLUTION:
A 3-part kit (S199900061) consisting of a plastic chainstay yoke protector, adhesive mastic patch and sponge filter has been
created and was fitted as a running change to new bikes with production date later than March 2019.
The chainstay protector prevents debris from collecting on the chainstay yoke and together with the mylar patch reduces the
likelihood of paint chips. The sponge filter prevents debris from entering the motor area whilst allowing air and water to flow though.
The Levo Chainstay Protector kit is recommended for all bikes manufactured before the running change – Specialized will supply this
kit free of charge for affected bikes upon request.
This document shows how to install these service parts.
