Predicting Chemical Bonds

In our “Representing Chemical Bonds” activity, we saw three bonding

scenarios:
1. No bonds form- noble gases
2. Covalent bonding- electrons are shared between atoms, usually 2
nonmetals
3. Ionic bonding- electrons are transferred between atoms, usually from a
metal to a nonmetal

For this activity, you will be provided with shell models of two atoms. Based
on the shell models, you will predict whether an ionic, a covalent, or no
bond will form.

You will submit your answers to this Google Form.
