WHAT IS DRUGS?
any substance other than food or water that is
intended to be taken or administered for the purpose
of altering the recipients physical, mental or
emotional state.

-Substance that affects the body’s Central
Nervous System (CNS) and changes how
people behave or perceive what is happening
around
-Alters the mood, thoughts, sensory, perception,
behavior

LEGAL VS ILLEGAL

Drugs are helpful when we take Abusing legal drugs or using illega
them upon prescription to treat drugs, such as MARIJUANA,
ailments or sickness. ECSTASY, AND SHABU.

When it is abused and taking


it has become ADDICTIVE

• IS DRUG ABUSE?
Drug abuse is the use of any chemical substance, legal or illegal,
resulting to individual’s physical, mental, emotional
impairment.
• FORMS OF DRUG ABUSE
✓Use of legal drugs without prescription or consultation
with a physician;
✓Use of legal drugs for a purpose different from what it
was designed and prescribed for;
✓Using drugs and substances without legitimate medical
application or purpose

•The drug is inhaled, goes to the lungs and is
then rapidly absorbed into the bloodstream.

•Snorted chemicals will enter the
bloodstream through the mucus
membrane in the nose.

•Swallowing the drugs allows the drugs to
move onto the stomach where they are
absorbed by the stomach lining and then
enter the bloodstream

• Injecting or putting fluid into the body, usually
with a syringe and a hollow needle which is
pierced through the skin to a sufficient depth for
the drugs to be administered into the body
