Creation Of Lightning
Once upon a time, there lived
electrons and protons separated
by the space between them. They
were both living joyous ordinary
lives. Until one day the malicious
Gravitational Force(GF) monster
came crashing down on the
Electron's world.

Terrified, the Electrons were
forced from their homeland
“cloudville” and their only
chance at survival was to flee
to the other side of the cloud
Proton’s “cloud dome” .

The Electrons pleaded with the
Protons “We have nowhere to
go, please let us stay here.” The
Protons responded “Absolutely
Not” and the battle between the
two commenced.
500 million Protons faced off
against 1 billion Electrons in a
fierce battle with ice shards
flowing through the clouds.

As soon as the Protons and
electrons make contact a spark
is lit within them and from then
on lightning is born bouncing
between Protons and Electrons
and back up to the cloud until
balance is restored.
Wait that’s
not right…
 Who’s right?
The Greeks –
Lighting is obviously the famous
weapon of the king of the greek
gods Zeus. Created by Cyclopes
and gifted to Zeus as gratitude
for freeing them from the
depths of tartarus, lightning is
used as a symbol of Zeus’s
immense power.
The Chinese-
Lightning occurs when Dianmu
The goddess of lighting would
use a mirror to shine light upon
earth when her husband god of
thunder Lei Gong would punish
guilty mortals with his drum
and chisel.
Wait that’s
not right…
 Other Myths
Myth 1: The Inca Myth- A brilliant man who lived
in the upper world would show his power by
sending lightning and thunder.

Myth 2: Japanese Myth- The Shinto is a depicted

demon that strikes a drum to create lightning and
thunder.

Myth 3: African Tribe - Lightning is a sign of

anger of the gods to strike upon the enemies.
Okay…. Here’s what we
really know
Technically none of this is wrong, but it isn’t right
either. However here is what we can prove:
 For Real
Lightning is…A giant spark of electricity
which takes place either within the
atmosphere or between the atmosphere and
the Earth's surface.

Water and Ice droplets inside a cloud carry

electrons and protons. When too many
electrons build up protons come up from the
ground to help balance them out.

Positive charges attract negative charges and
vice versa this makes it difficult for
electricity to move through the air. As clouds
grow the Gravitational Force gets stronger
and forces the atoms together.
Eventually the charges over power the air
and the clouds release a strong negative
charge and as the current gets closer to the
ground the positive charged current induces
charge by pushing electrons down and away

When the current connects a bright flash is created that
travels back up to the cloud.
