CORRUPTION
“corruption is a poison we must put that down with an iron hand “
(Quaid-e-Azam)
Corruption is defined as the dishonest or unethical method used by a
person entrusted with a position or authority, for personal benefits. Word
corruption means dishonesty or bribery, origin of word corruption is
Latin word ‘corrumpere’ means mar, bribe or destroy. In other words,
Corruption is when a person who is responsible for a task, and misuses
that position for their own profit. Corruption includes bribery and
embezzlement. Corruption has a greater impact on Pakistan economy
and corruption is also a main reason behind the underdevelopment of
nation
“Power does not corrupt people, people corrupt power”
Corruption is a widespread and incurable disease that has been plaguing
the world for centuries. It's an insidious plague-spreading evil where
people are robbed of their money, dignity, peace of mind, even justice if
they're unlucky enough to face it in court. The audience should be
reminded at all costs how corrupting this situation can be on the
individual and society - not just financially but also morally and
spiritually.
“Bribing is a sin against mankind”
Bribery is defined as the improper use of gifts and favours for the
purpose of obtaining personal gain. Bribery is the most frequently used
method of corruption. In addition, the favours are diverse in nature.
Preferential treatment and ignoring criminal activity are two of the most
frequently requested favours
“Dishonesty leads to corruption”
If the man is corrupt, then he will do anything to get what he wants. That
includes being greedy and choosing a path that goes against his moral
standards.
“Corruption is paid by the poor”
Corruption has led many people to lose their fundamental rights and any
hope for change in this world as an honest person sits at the top of
government with nothing they can do about it. In contrast, others
continue doing wrongs without remorse or fear because there's no one
watching them anymore.
“The biggest disease is corruption. The biggest vaccine is
transparency”
There are many types of corruption, some are done by the public sector
but some are done by public but in both methods common people suffers
Corruption in public sector includes corruption within agencies
responsible for implementation of public welfare and other development
schemes by the government
Judicial corruption refers to an act of mis conduct by the judges,
where in they give a biased judgment, ignoring facts and evidence, in
exchange for personal gains offered
Corruption in education includes that the budget and funds under
different heads are massively misappropriated. Hundreds of schools in
the rural areas remain disused and the teachers posted there do not
appear for work or have outsourced their jobs in connivance with district
officials against the payment of some part of their salaries.
“Corruption in education leads to some people getting highly
educated and then these people support the uneducated to rule over
the illiterate masses”
Corruption in health care, health care sector has been a victim of
fund embezzlement, wherein, funds allotted for infrastructure and
facilities for the patients are siphoned off by corrupt officials, doctors
and other office bearers for personal gains. Also, not all the free
medicine and other facilities reach to the beneficiary at the ground level.
“Corruption in health care costs more than money the price of
corruption health care is paid by the human lives”
Government employees should be paid good amount of salaries. Bribery
would be discourage by increasing salaries.  People especially the poor
get hurt when resources are wasted. That’s why it is so important to
understand the different kinds of corruption to develop smart
responses. Create pathways that give citizens relevant tools to engage
and participate in their governments.
“Power does not corrupts… fear corrupts perhaps the pear of loss of
power”
If the government take good steps towards stopping corruption the
economy will flourish and there will be development in all aspects of
life of public. When a country becomes corruption free it become more
sustainable and immune towards all the outer dangers.
