Background/Rational: AFP Surveillance is one of the main component of eradication of Polio. It was
seen that most of health care providers are lacking in understanding of AFP and AFP surveillance system,
therefore it was decided to give orientation of AFP to reach health care providers across the country. Such
trainings will Improve AFP Surveillance system hence polio eradication efforts will be accelerated.
There is a strong need of orientation of community about AFP because due to Covid 19 no sessions
conducted during 2020 and 2021. So it was needed to refresh the knowledge about AFP and Covid 19.
Expected Outcomes:
Participants will get better understanding of AFP and AFP Surveillance system, their roles and
responsibilities in this regard and will search and report for AFP cases

Concluding Remarks:
Overall session went well and health care providers appreciated the efforts
